It is said that 80% or more of the marketing messages used in Print are 100% ineffective.”

In order to capture your prospects attention you must first give them a compelling reason to read your message.

A lot of companies are guilty of simply announcing their name and a list of services… yawn.

So here’s PrintHut’s list of Design Tips that will help you better capture and keep your prospective customer’s interest.

1. Try ‘NIWG’ – Notice Interest Want Get

Notice – The banner or headline that makes an impressive benefit promise.

Interest – Builds information in an interesting way, usually meaning it must relate closely to your product or service.

Want – Relate the benefits to the reader to create desire to purchase.

Get – Prompt an action, such as provide a number, coupon or website which the customer can use to contact you. Sold!

2. Be Clear

Clear layouts, clear fonts, clear language, clear images, clear message.

3. Make Prominent Message The Prominent One.

It might sound silly but a lot of people get too caught up about the little stuff, which chances are the customer may not even read. Pick the most important message and make it the first and last thing they see.

4. Don’t Use The Same Old Rubbish

If a customer has seen and heard it all before, it will be no surprise that they’re going to take no notice at all. Do something new or original, but make sure it’s different.

5. Be Special and Be Proud of It!

If you’re the same as your competition, you wont do any better than your competition. Create something different and sell sell sell it!

6. DON’T PUT THINGS IN CAPITALS

PEOPLE READ BY LOOKING AT THE LETTER SHAPES, WHICH ARE LOST IF YOU PUT THEM IN CAPITALS. IT LOOKS TACKY, IT ADDS NOTHING, AND MAKES IT HARDER TO READ. Don’t do it.
