PrintHut.co.uk® Ask Govt to Redesign and Print Polling Cards

It’s hardly surprising only 32 per cent of the voting public got off their backsides and voted isn’t it? The printed polling cards hardly inspire anybody to wonder down to the local polling station. Isn’t it about time these were completely updated and designed to engage with their recipients and excite people.

The technology is here and the intelligence of the database must be comprehensive – after all it’s the government’s own database of the nation. There are all sorts of thoughts why the turnout was so bad, from the usual waffle about disenfranchised voters to general decline in interest in politicians. Have we lost the sense of community maybe?

PrintHut.co.uk® reckon it’s much more simple!!  The polling cards are boring – there is no sense of invitation and no message to lure people back to the polling stations. We want to see colour, eye catching graphics and powerful messages.

The print and mailing industry is more than capable, with the staggering advances in digital technology to create personalised polling cards with certain demographic profiles receiving a specific message. Just think for a moment; encouraging an 18 year old to participate in local elections will require a completely different message compared with that used to get an OAP down to the polling station.

Finally, we don’t have to look far for inspiration do we. Look at the supermarkets for example and see the marketing tricks they use to lure customers into their shops; bright colours, eye catching headlines and specific messages for specific demographic sectors.

Printhut.co.uk will write to government and offer their services!
