PrintHut have recently had the pleasure of Printing a Magazine for – Bees Jewellery, showcasing their latest Mughal Princess Collection.
The A6 24pp brochure is Printed in full colour on 250gsm for the cover and 150gsm for the inside. The brochures are for use in-store and also dispatched to clients as a direct mail campaign.
The weights of paper and final size were crucial for maximum cost reduction of postage.
Jewellery is always a delicate subject matter to print. The jewellery needs to be as sharp as possible and punchy, but not flooded with too much colour as otherwise it would lose detail.
This is why a Press Pass is important.
A press pass allows you to look over a copy of the finished product before the rest are run through.
Going on a Press Pass?
Don’t go without reading PrintHut’s top tips!
Printers hate Customers strolling in at their leisure, it drives them potty!
Introduce yourself and get talking. Press minders are craftsmen, make sure you let them feel like they are the expert (even if they’re not.)
Go into the press room with the mindset that nothing needs changing. Normally you will have absolutely nothing to do because they have already done it.
Be prepared to wait – a Printer will always work on the side of caution and get you in earlier than required. Bring a book or some music – if you like knitting, now’s the time to finish off that cardy!
Take a proof along with you.
Touch it, feel it, fold it. With so much focus on colour, it’s easy to forget the paper. Does the paper feel right? Does it fold right?
Check the detail. Take a few sheets with you when you leave, but first check the tiny things like delivery dates and boxing requirements. Though it may look fantastic, it can all go wrong very quickly if it goes to the wrong place.
