Ok there are essentially two options whoever you buy from; premium and budget.

A premium banner should be at the very least 550 gsm coated matt PVC material and contain nickel eyeletting every foot or so. Ensure also that your banner supplier is offering hemming. This is where the edge is folded back on itself to prevent tearing. Get all this right and the banner will be durable in outside conditions.

A budget banner on the otherhand is usually printed onto a 400gsm coated matt PVC material, and will often exclude eyeletting and hemming. In this instance expect it to be OK for indoor conditions only and will last for a good year or so. The type of inks used will also have an impact on the final appearance. PrintHut.co.uk® recommend an eco-solvent printing process that produces vibrant colours.

Just before purchase think about once you have your banner how are you going to hang it? Ask your supplier if they sell bungees. These cost next to nothing and finish the job off. Nothing worse than seeing an banner hung up with loads of bits of messy strings.

Finally when it arrives it will be rolled up and will have fold marks and creases. Just pop in on the nearest radiator for 5 minutes and hey poncho!! It’s ready to rock!
